More about AlistairMarston Community Gardening has won the 2023 Oxford Preservation Trust Award in the Landscape & Public Realm category for their work on Court Farm Place Allotments.
The Oxford Preservation Trust Awards aim to support and celebrate projects big and small which contribute to Oxford’s community and character. The projects can conserve beauty from Oxford’s past or create new spaces and resources for the community.
Since June 2018, Marston Community Gardening, co-founded by Green Councillor Alistair Morris, has been supporting and fostering local engagement in gardening and planting that supports environmental and ecological sustainability and enhances community life. The group has many different inspiring projects, including a Forest Garden producing fruits and vegetables for the community through a low-maintenance agroforestry system, and a Refill Station helping to reduce plastic waste. The Court Farm Place Allotments offer a space for local individuals and families to grow fruit and vegetables for themselves, with surplus produce being shared with the wider community.
