Councillor Alfie Davis was first elected to represent Holywell with 68% of the vote in 2026. They are the co-director of Oxford’s largest food bank, and were motivated to get involved with local politics after feeling frustrated over the lack of action taken to address widespread poverty and inequality in the city.
They currently live in Jericho, and joined the Green Party in 2025.
A recent student, they graduated with a BA in Geography from St Anne’s college in 2024 – so are especially proud to represent the ward with the most students in the country. As a student activist and campaigner, they were Chair of Oxford Class Act, where they campaigned for protections for working class and estranged students and for accessible/affordable accommodation and housing. They also are passionate about Palestinian and LGBTQ+ liberation, and co-founded Oxford Trans Pride in 2023 for which they were awarded the LGBTQ+ Undergrad of the Year Award in 2024.
Alfie believes that electoral work must go hand in hand with broader social movements, community organising and activism. They maintain links with student activists working for change in their ward, and are keen to support ongoing grassroots projects, student-led or otherwise.
