Alex is a Principal Lecturer in Law and Programme Lead at Oxford Brookes University, where his research focuses on the UK’s approach to recognising and protecting refugees.
In this role, he has pushed for a shift in the UK’s narrative on migration from one of hostility to one of dignity and has sought to bring together legal practitioners and people with lived experience to explore methods of resisting harmful government policies such as the plan to remove those seeking protection to Rwanda.
Alex has been an active member of the Green party since 2015, and currently sits as a member of the Green Party Trade Union Group Committee. While at Oxford Brookes, he is an active member of the University and College Union (UCU) and the Migration and Refugees
network, where he sits on the steering committee.
